Palm Beach Boat Show 2024

Article

Pelorus Co-Founder and Business Development Director, Jimmy Carroll, and Director of Pelorus Yachting, Gayle Patterson, had an incredible four days exploring everything that Palm Beach Boat Show had to offer. With over 800 yachts on show, it was an incredible action-packed four days seeing some of the latest technology, toys, tenders, and yachts available.

"Palm Beach Boat Show is pretty much becoming the number one yacht show in the US right now."

Jimmy Carroll, Pelorus Co-Founder

With so many yachts to see, the pair hit the ground running on day one. They met with Jim Dixon, Winch Design's Managing Partner, who provided interesting insights into the design, finishes and quality of materials used onboard 60m Come Together, delivered by Amels in 2022. Their latest project 88m Project Fusion was also discussed (model shown in image), which boasts a unique beach club and wellness experience over two decks.

The evening ushered in Oceanco’s cocktail evening: Chateau Oceanco. Held at a grand mansion in Palm Beach, the event consisted of networking and cocktails (both of which were thoroughly enjoyed).

The custom yacht builder have been long-term partners with Pelorus, the latter having developed a series of experiences and benefits for the holders of Oceanco’s Superyacht NFTs. But this evening it was Pelorus Yachting’s turn to step into the spotlight, partnering with the shipbuilder on the Chateau Oceanco event to amplify Pelorus Yachting’s presence in the luxury yachting industry.

Florida isn’t often associated with rain, but Friday brought with it rain showers, guests slowly gravitating inside the event spaces and onto the yachts. The Palm Beach Atelier panel was held, offering an alluring evening of curated luxury, thoughtful discussion, and bespoke design. Among the speakers were Sarah Magnus from Studio Magnus, Radenko Milakovic from JCraft Boats, Chris Lineback from McKinnon & Harris, and our very own Jimmy Carroll. Moderated by the excellent Bill Springer, a journalist and senior contributor for Forbes, Jimmy discussed all things bespoke expedition yachting and industry trends.

Saturday came with more insightful conversations between Bill and Jimmy, with Gayle joining the fold to share her expertise on luxury yachting and what makes Pelorus Yachting different.

“We are an experiential and expedition yachting company. We believe a yacht is the platform from which we can get our clients experiencing absolutely amazing adventures and really immerse themselves in the destinations in which they’re cruising. We’ve often found our clients are frustrated with traditional yachting because it’s left up to the captain’s imagination as to where they should be going and what they should be doing. So we really try to create immersive experiences, adding on additional layers and bringing in scientists, experts, photographers, and making sure their charter is fulfilling."
